In the second half of 2012, we were one of the creators of the DUOMO art project. The concept of the project assumed the use of the most modern multimedia techniques to revive the copperplate engravings of the Krakow artist Krzysztof Skórczewski. Thanks to techniques such as 3D mapping, stereoscopic projection, 2D animation, augmented reality, and gesture control, the images created by the artist using techniques known from the 16th century came to life.
Our tasks included showing the potential of interactive technologies. We decided that it would be a good time to present our new solutions: augmented reality and interactive wall. As a result, we displayed 3D models of the artist’s copperplate engravings on the augmented reality cards, built an interactive wall with the possibility of moving the characters from the paintings, and animated the gaze of a butterfly that began to look at passers-by.
The final presentation of the project took place as part of the opening of the Małopolska Garden of Arts in Krakow in December 2012.
